Nanbanjin - The Calling
Nanbanjin consist of Dai Evans (gtr/vocals, Wales), Eoin Jordan (bass, England) and Manabu Mori (drums, Japan) and are based in Kyushu, western Japan. As you might expect from that, they present a very different sound indeed. Its dramatic and powerful and almost impossible to categorise. Dai Evans’ vocals are just HUGE and the power of the rhythm section turns what might otherwise have been a pretty dirge like song into something monumental. Quite simply put, you have to actually listen to this to come to grips with it. Extraordinary. " Huge soaring vocals over burrundhi type beats, atmospheric and simply amazing" - Matchbox Radio 24.
